Bigfoot to Brighton 2015

Yes, it's back again! Bigfoot to Brighton is a series of group rides, culminating in a ride from Hayes to Brighton at the same time as the adult Bigfoot Cycle Club's annual ride in May. It's a great challenge and we have had riders as young as 9 years complete the ride to Brighton. Last year 20 young riders made it all the way!

These rides are open to all our riders from Bigfoot Go-Ride (Hayes and Pickhurst) and Bigfoot Youth CC.

The rides will be in groups of varying speeds to suit all riders who fancy giving it a go - with a series of preparatory rides to help build stamina and confidence. One option for younger riders is to do a few of the shorter rides this year and complete the Hayes to Brighton challenge next year. It's totally up to you what you do. Speak to your club mates about how it is, or ask the coaches for advice.

This year we are adding a new level of challenge for our strongest riders - a series of longer training rides, leading to the opportunity to ride Hayes to Brighton and back again in one day!

If you're interested put the following dates in your diary:

  • Ride 1:  Sunday 8 February 2015 - 15 or 35 miles
  • Ride 2:  Sunday 22 February 2015 - 20 or 40 miles
  • Ride 3:  Sunday 8 March 2015 - 25 or 45 miles
  • Ride 4:  Sunday 29 March 2015 - 30 or 55 miles
  • Ride 5:  Sunday 19 April 2015 - 35 or 65 miles

All training rides start at 10.00 am in Hayes.

  • Hayes to Brighton:  Sunday 3 May 2015  - 54 miles to Brighton, or go part way back (73 miles) or all the way back to Hayes (108 miles)

Hayes to Brighton ride starts at 8.00 am (provisional)

All Young Riders need to be accompanied and supervised by a parent or friend of the family. Youth CC Riders may use Ride Buddies under usual arrangements.

If you are interested in coming please register all riders by clicking on the link below as many times as you need – this helps us have an idea of numbers and speeds up the sign up process at the start of the ride:
