Bigfoot to Brighton 2019

Bigfoot to Brighton is our club’s big Spring event - it's a great opportunity for our young riders (plus their families) to do some riding in the local countryside, and maybe make it to Brighton! Riders can do as many or a few rides as they wish.

It’s a series of road rides, mainly on quiet country lanes. The first ride is a 15 mile loop from, then rides of 20, 25, 30 and 35 miles. The last ride is 54 miles from Hayes to Brighton! Riders can do as many or as few rides as they like.

We have groups for different ability levels. Each rider can take on the distances they fancy, and can always come back to do longer distances next year. You can do the rides to challenge yourself or just those you want with leisure in mind.
The rides are in supportive and friendly groups, lead by experienced cyclists. Last year we had between 120 and 150 on each ride, in groups of around 12 to 15.
Everything you need to know can be found on our website at

Who is it for?

The ride series is aimed at children, their parents / carers; and novice adult cyclists (we have some adult only groups) – for those who prefer some support and encouragement along the way by being in a ride group. We have had riders from 7 to 70 take part. It’s an open event – so riders may join in whether or not they are a member of our club, bring family and friends!
Want to join in?

If anyone wants to ride in some or all of these rides you must register – every child and every adult must register – to do this click on the link below and enter your details and repeat as many times as needed (the link for registration is also in the Information Leaflet in the above mentioned website):

The whole event is run by volunteers – and we need more volunteers as Ride Leaders. Nothing to it! – if you can read a map, help repair a puncture and have experience of riding in groups; then you are perfect! We can help with everything else you need to know. Interested? – please email Adam at
