Summer holiday activities 2015

Bigfoot Go-Ride and Bigfoot Youth is taking a break for the summer, but there are plenty of other cycling activities to get involved with during the summer holidays.

Go-Ride starts again on Saturday 5 September, and Bigfoot Youth will be back on Tuesday 8 September. In the menatime, why not try some of these activities to keep you ojn your bike during the summer?



Cyclocross summer series


The Summer Series cyclocross races are back for 2015! These are four local evening races that provide a fun and friendly warm up for the cyclocross season. All ages welcome. Find out more at www.summerseries.co.uk

Bigfoot Go-Ride is co-hosting the event at Addington Park on 30 July, so if you're able to help with marshalling do let us know.


Summer Cycle Day Camps


If you're looking for something fun and healthy for your children to do this summer, there are two Summer Cycling Camps during the school holidays, organised by local cycling coaches, including our very own Darren Williams.

The day camps are for 10-16 year olds of all riding abilities and they are running from 10am to 4pm from Monday 27th July to Friday 31st July and then again from Monday 15th August to Friday 19th August. Every day will be different with activities such as skills and fitness tests, team and individual races, challenges and games designed to help riders enhance their riding and improve their confidence and control.

Riders will need to bring their own bike and suitable clothing to include a cycle helmet, a packed lunch and a drink. Water will be provided throughout the day.

Numbers will be limited and will be allocated on first come, first served basis.

Herne Hill school holiday clubs


There are a range of school holiday activities on offer at Herne Hill velodrome, including track cycling and mountain biking.

The sessions run from 10am to 3pm, and are suitable for children aged 8-16 of all abilities, from complete beginners to experienced racers! Riders will be able to choose between mountain-biking and track cycling.

It costs £15 per child per day. Bike and helmet hire included. There is a discounted rate of £10 for riders with their own suitable bikes.

Cyclopark summer holiday programme


The Cyclopark is hosting a wide range of summer holiday activities, from BMX to mountain biking and road cycling. There is also Cyclopark Family Summer Holiday Park Pass, which costs £55 and lasts for 7 weeks.
