The Bigfoot HOUR - Round 1

posted 23 Mar 2015, 09:25 by Bigfoot Go-Ride
Well done to everyone who took part in the first Bigfoot HOUR at Herne Hill Velodrome on Sunday 22 March. It was a great success, and you can see some fantastic photos from the event on Bigfoot Go-Ride's Flickr site.

After the event, Bigfoot Go-Ride's Chair Spencer Harradine said:

"The great thing about being a young club is that you are forever treading new ground, and today was one of those special days. Whether you were the fastest or not today you set a record: you participated in the very first ever ever 'Bigfoot Hour'.

There was something special about all our riders today. They all went through the excitement of the start and the initial few laps trying to find a rhythm, then the pain of having ridden hard for 20 minutes and realised you are only a third of the way there. The deep sense of doubt that washed over you between 30 and 45 minutes and the sudden sense of belief (and pain) when you realise you only have to pedal for another 10 minutes, and the elation and surge of energy that enters the limbs as you complete the penultimate lap and the finish line is just one more lap away!

Well done to everyone who too part, and a huge thank you to the parents and volunteers for helping make this very first Bigfoot Hour was a resounding success."

Results will be posted here soon.
